Mamer Chess Club is a not-for-profit organisation currently offering chess lessons for children and adults of all ages, led by a qualified coach. We plan to provide more events and tournaments in the future. Watch this space.

The Coach

Stefan Maltezeanu has been passionate about playing chess since the age of four. Throughout his journey, he has had the honour of becoming a national champion in the U14 and higher categories and competing in four youth and junior world championships and one European youth championship. For the past seven years, Stefan has been dedicated to coaching and helping players of all levels improve their game.

The Committee

Mamer Chess Club was founded in 2023 by a group of local parents. Although we are not all avid players, our children are, and we wanted a space for them to play and progress in our community.

In 2024, we were delighted to introduce adult classes to our programme to expand our membership further.
